TULSA, Oklahoma -

A full excavation is underway at Tulsa’s Oaklawn Cemetery as archaeologists try to learn whether the mass graves there are connected to the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

Crews found 12 coffins with human remains during a test excavation last fall.
