Historians On The Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial: ‘We Can’t Avoid This History’

With a national spotlight on the Tulsa Race Massacre and a new exhibit in the Smithsonian, historians say the centennial offers an opportunity to look clearly at our past.

The President’s visit to Tulsa Tuesday is putting a national spotlight on the Race Massacre that it has rarely, if ever, gotten before. Historians said that makes the centennial a great opportunity for all Americans to take a hard look in the mirror.

The Smithsonian now has an exhibit about the Tulsa Race Massacre.
