A couple driving a classic truck down the entire length of Route 66 made a stop in Tulsa on Monday.

David and Mary Stowe are retirees from Illinois and are making their second trip down the old highway. The two are driving in a 1959 Chevy Apache Panel Truck attached to a 2004 Silverado chassis.

Owner David Stowe said, "It's basically a brand new truck with an old body set on top of it and it's got a diesel motor with less than 30,000 miles on it, so actually it's a teenaged girl wearing grandma's dress."

Stowe said Route 66 is clearly marked through Tulsa, which he says makes it easy to follow.

He and his wife say they are taking the time and driving less than 100 miles a day.
