The family of Stacey Brown is pleading for answers after he was shot and killed two weeks ago outside his home.

“His last words were 'thank you mama, I love you,'" Stacey's mother Joyce Richardson told News on 6.

She said it hurts that she wasn't able to say goodbye to her oldest son before he died. Now all she has left are memories, pictures and cards and flowers in her living room.

“Stacey from day one was a loving individual. He loved everybody no matter if you’ve done something to him in the past if he needed help, he would still help you," Richardson said.

Richardson said Stacey's girlfriend's son, Elijah Johnson, was booked into jail for the shooting. Johnson is native American, so the FBI took over the investigation.

“Without having any answers it’s hard to process that this is not a dream, it’s real," Stacey’s brother, Chris Brown, said.

Brown said their family got a call from the FBI asking for information. Since then, they haven't heard anything and have gotten no answers.

“And that’s what hurts the most because it just makes it hard to really grieve,” Brown added.

Brown said he spoke to neighbors who say Stacey was shot outside his house in Muskogee. Brown and his mother say they laid Stacey to rest Saturday - one month after his 52nd birthday. They tell News on 6 that all they want is to know more about what happened.

“I have to stand tall to make sure that he gets justice like everybody else gets justice. I want to see my son get justice,” Richardson said.

News on 6 called the FBI and have not heard back. News on 6 also called the U.S. Attorney’s Office who said the case is still under investigation.
