Fourth Of July Celebrations Back In Full Force Across Metro

A year after most Fourth of July celebrations were canceled due to the pandemic, the bashes are making a comeback across the OKC metro.

News 9's Kelsey Kernstine has a breakdown of events for the holiday weekend.

Midwest City:

Families are invited to the Tribute to Liberty Party and firework show.

It starts at 6 p.m. on Sunday in Barnes Regional Park and it will feature food trucks and live entertainment.

Bring a blanket and lawn chairs. Fireworks start at 9:45 p.m.

Yukon:

Freedom Fest begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The two-day celebration is at Chisholm Trail Park.

Admissions are free.

Visitors will find games, fireworks and food trucks.

Moore:

You will get a similar experience in Celebration in the Heartland on Sunday.

The celebration is from 2 to 10 p.m. at Buck Thomas Park. The event ends with a fireworks show.

Norman:

On Sunday, you can head to Reaves Park for live music, yard games, even baby crawl races.

Norman's Fourth Fest starts at 5 p.m. and ends with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

It will also be live streamed on Norman parks department's Facebook page.

Edmond:

Edmond is closing down Hafer Park to prepare for its finale to LibertyFest.

The park is blocked-off for the fireworks show Sunday.

The LibertyFest parade starts at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

Oklahoma City:

Another party is happening Saturday in Scissortail Park. The OKC Philharmonic will perform a free.

There will be a Red, White and Boom concert featuring songs like "America the Beautiful," "Chariots of Fire," and even selections from "Star Wars." It starts at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Bricktown 4th of July celebration is starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday with a block party along Mickey Mantle Drive.

Food trucks, contests and live music will be there, too.
