Body Found In Ditch By Roadway In Miami; Investigation Underway

A body was discovered by highway workers on Highway 69A north of the Will Rogers Turnpike, according to Miami Police.

MIAMI, Oklahoma -

Miami Police and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a body was discovered by highway workers in a ditch.

They said the man's body was found Thursday off Highway 69A north of the Will Rogers Turnpike.

The road is back open, but was closed for most of the day while investigators were on the scene. They said they believe a driver hit and killed the man.

Police said the challenge now is trying to identify the man and determine who killed him.
