The Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine helped give a Texas puppy a new chance at life.

Siggi was born with a rare condition causing her front paws to be upside down. An animal rescue group in Dallas brought the rat terrier up to Stillwater for the surgery this summer, and Siggi is now doing well.

The doctors and students at OSU knew just what to do, after a similar surgery on a dog named Milo two years ago.

"Siggi and Milo both have given me an opportunity here at Oklahoma State's Veterinary School to teach our students a bit more about the elbow and what kinds of things can happen in the elbow," Dr. Erik Clary said.

A Kansas woman is already planning to adopt Siggi, after she has one final checkup appointment at OSU next month.
