According to a statement, Governor Kevin Stitt announced Thursday that he is seeking an audit of the state's department of education.
Stitt did so by submitting a request to the Oklahoma Auditor and Inspector's Office after what the governor's office claims were a "misuse of funds" found in Epic Charter Schools' audit.
In the audit request, the governor's office said it "demands identification of all revenue sources flowing into OSDE through federal funds, state appropriations, taxes and fees, and to determine whether OSDE and Oklahoma school districts are complying with financial transaction reporting requirements."
This is a developing story.
