The Oklahoma Democratic Party is responding to Governor Kevin Stitt’s trip to the United States-Mexico border.

Chairwoman Alicia Andrews said the governor’s trip is “100 percent political.”

She said it’s about someone who wants to get face time doing what she calls “bucket-list items Republicans are known for.”

"The fact that the governor of Oklahoma decided to join the cool kids and go visit the border and go on a fun little boat ride is more theatrics and performative, more of the performative stuff that we've seen him doing,” Andrews said.

Andrews also rejects the notion that this is “Biden’s border crisis.”

She said the way the President handled the influx of Haitian migrants last month shows he’s not for open borders but is instead encouraging people to come the right way.

Andrews thinks Governor Stitt should be focusing on things that directly effect Oklahoma, including what she calls the eviction crisis.
