A Sequoyah County man has been found guilty by a federal jury of killing his mother and grandmother by setting them on fire.

In June of 2019, Joseph Hernandez poured gasoline on his mother Audrey Hernandez and grandmother Frances Wright then set them on fire inside their Marble City home. Neighbors saw the fire and pulled the women out of the home but they died from their injuries a few days later.

The 34-year-old could receive a life sentence.
