Candidates File To Run For Oklahoma City Mayor

Carol Hefner, Jimmy Lawson, Frank Urbanic and incumbent David Holt will be on the February 8 ballot.

Four candidates have filed to run in Oklahoma City's mayoral election in February of 2022.

Carol Hefner, Jimmy Lawson, Frank Urbanic and incumbent David Holt will be on the February 8 ballot.

If one of the four candidates receives a majority in the general election, they will be sworn in for a four year term in April. If no majority is reached, the top two candidates will stand in a runoff election on April 5, 2022.

The mayor also serves as a member of the Oklahoma City Council.

The mayoral race in Oklahoma City is non-partisan. The salary for mayor is $24,000 a year.

All registered Oklahoma City voters are eligible to vote in the election. To find your polling location, look at your voter ID card or use the Oklahoma State Election Board website at ok.gov/elections.

The deadline to register to vote in the election is Jan. 14. Visit ok.gov/elections to download a voter registration application.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the primary election is 5 p.m. Jan. 24.

Early voting for the general election is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 3-4.
