Oklahoma is currently one of only 4 states in the country where the highly-transmittable Omicron variant has not been confirmed.

Many Oklahoma health officials believe the variant is already here, as it's in every state surrounding ours right now.

Oklahoma ranks last in variant testing across the board.

Omicron is sweeping through the United States as Miami and New York just recorded the highest new infection rate ever in a single day.

In new studies, the Omicron variant multiplies 70 times faster than the Delta variant or original COVID-19.

Symptoms are more like the standard cold: runny nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing and sore throat.

Researchers say there is a 30-40% efficacy in preventing infections with this new variant if you've gotten your shot.

That is why the storyline now from health officials is to get the booster as quickly as possible because it gives you about a 70% higher chance of not getting the Omicron variant.
