At bowl games like the Valero Alamo Bowl, bands are a common sight, performing at pep rallies and team events.

However, the Pride of Oklahoma has pulled double duty this year, helping their University of Oregon counterparts in their time of need. A snowstorm in the Pacific Northwest meant most of the Oregon band was unable to make the trip to San Antonio in time for the River Rally on Monday night.

Pride of Oklahoma trumpeter Cameron Honaker said his colleagues were willing to step up.

"(They told us) a couple days before, 'Hey, we're stuck in Oregon. We're not going to be at certain events,' so our director said, 'Hey guys, the Oregon band, they've got some guys but not a lot. Can you help out?' And we're like, 'Yeah, sure," he said.

Members of the Pride performed with those in the Oregon band, playing the Ducks' fight song and helping fans of both teams get ready for the big game.
