As COVID-19 cases hit record highs across Oklahoma and schools face significant staffing shortages, many districts are transitioning students to distance learning.

As COVID-19 cases hit record highs across Oklahoma and schools face significant staffing shortages, many districts are transitioning students to distance learning.

Below is a list of school districts across Green Country that have transitioned students to distance learning.

Allen Bowden Public Schools:

All students at Allen Bowden Public Schools will be in distance learning from Tuesday, January 11 through Friday, January 14. Since Monday, January 17 is a scheduled holiday, classes will resume on Tuesday, January 18.

Berryhill Public Schools:

Berryhill Public Schools will transition to distance learning beginning Tuesday, January, 11 through Friday, January 14. Students will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18.

Broken Arrow:

Due to staffing issues, Broken Arrow Public Schools students in grades 6th through 12th will transition to distance learning for one week starting on Tuesday, January 11. Students will return to the classroom on Tuesday, January 18.

Students in all other grades across the district will continue to learn in person.

Bixby Public Schools:

Bixby Public Schools says all of its sites will move to distance learning for the rest of the week.

The district expects to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18th.

Henryetta Public Schools:

Students at Henryetta Public Schools will transition to distance learning starting on Tuesday, January 11 through Friday, January 14 due to a large number of COVID-19 cases among students, staff and faculty.

Students who attend Green Country Technology Center will still attend in-person classes.

All extracurricular activities have been canceled.

Jenks Public Schools:

Jenks Public Schools announced on Monday that it will transition students at West Elementary, West Intermediate and all students in grades 9 through 12 to distance learning from Tuesday, January 11 through Friday, January 14.

The shift will impact students at the following locations:

  1. West Elementary
  2. West Intermediate
  3. Freshman Academy
  4. Alternative Center
  5. High School

Kellyville Public Schools:

Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, Kellyville Public Schools students in grades 3 through 6 will transition to distance learning on January 11 and 12.

Pawhuska Public Schools:

Students at Pawhuska Public Schools will transition to distance learning on Tuesday, January 11 and return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18. The district says Monday, January 17 is a scheduled snow day and there will be no school.

Tulsa Public Schools:

The following Tulsa Public Schools are in distance learning on Tuesday, January 11.

  1. Anderson Elementary
  2. Bell Elementary
  3. Booker T. Washington
  4. Carnegie Elementary
  5. Carver Middle School
  6. Council Oak Elementary
  7. Eugene Field Elementary will shift to distance learning for Pre-K and one kindergarten class on Tuesday, January 11. 
  8. Greenwood Leadership Academy
  9. Kerr Elementary School is suspending in-person learning for students in grades 2 and 4.
  10. Mayo Demonstration
  11. Memorial Middle School 
  12. Patrick Henry Elementary
  13. Phoenix Rising 
  14. Skelly Elementary will suspend in-person learning for students in grades 1, 3, and 5 (dual-language)
  15. Tulsa MET
  16. Webster Middle and High School

Union Public Schools:

Union Public Schools is moving students in grades 6th through 12 to distance learning from January 11 through January 14 in order to reallocate resources to elementary students and keep them in the classroom.
