Archaeologists will present their findings about the mass grave at Oaklawn cemetery to Tulsa City leaders on March 1. Excavation work at Oaklawn finished in June 2021.
Researchers found 35 individuals, including 19 that were preserved enough to study. At least one of them had a gunshot wound.
Archaeologists have not said whether they believe the grave is connected to the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
After presenting their findings, the research team will make suggestions on what the city should do next.
