Tuesday is International Women's Day, and Oklahoma's FBI Office is holding a virtual recruitment session specifically for women.

The FBI and other law enforcement agencies are hoping Tuesday's event will inspire more women to join the force.

Several agencies are teaming up for the recruitment session including the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Tulsa Police Department.

A panel of female officers will talk about their experience working in law enforcement and answer questions.

According to the Federal Bureau of Justice Statistics, in 2021, women made up less than 13% of full-time police officers in the United States.

Tuesday's recruitment event will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams and will start at 6 p.m. It is virtual and will be held on Microsoft Teams.
