Breeze Airways To Launch Service From Tulsa To Nashville

A new nonstop flight from Tulsa to Nashville is coming just in time for summer travel.

Breeze Airways will begin offering the new direct service starting June 2nd and tickets are currently on sale as part of a promotion for the new nonstop flight. People visiting Tulsa's International Airport said they want to see more direct flights. "I'm flying to Houston, Texas. My first flight. And then my second flight it's going to get delayed for an hour and then I go to Corpus," said Cina Zanudial.

"You've got to fly in kind of early in the morning and then fly out late at night. There is not a lot of direct flights in between. You've got to go from here to Phoenix or California to get back to Texas," said Tony Delaat. 

A new direct flight out of Tulsa won't take you to the Texas coast, but Breeze Airways said it will save you an eight-hour drive. "Exciting times. Nashville is a great city and people in Nashville of course want to go to Tulsa as well. So it's a great new route for us," said David Neeleman.

Neeleman is the airline's CEO and said the direct flight from Tulsa to Tampa has gone so well, they decided to add a second destination. "People just want to go. They want to experience new things and see new things and get away and there is a lot of pent-up demand over the last two years," said Neeleman.

Neeleman said the new service will be on Sundays and Thursdays and is also being offered on the company's new Airbus 220, which he said is the most fuel-efficient plane

to help with the spike in oil prices. He said they're excited for the growth in Tulsa. "We tell people in Tulsa just keep coming and flying us and we'll keep adding service. We tried a couple of other ones like San Antonio but Tampa is working great," said Neeleman.
