Ascension St. John will break ground on a new 40-bed inpatient rehab hospital in Owasso on Thursday morning.

The new facility will care for patients recovering from stroke and other major traumas.

It will be located along East 86th Street North across the street from Owasso High School.

Mike McBride, the Regional President for Ascension Saint John, says they are excited about the hospital being in Owasso.

It's a growing community. It's medically underserved when it comes to inpatient rehab beds and for those reasons, we really targeted that community for this next step in our growth," said McBride.

The hospital will feature all private rooms, a therapy gym, pharmacy and a therapy courtyard.

Thursday groundbreaking will take place at 10 a.m.
