Tulsa Police arrested a man who they say threatened officers with a knife then ran into the Arkansas River on Sunday.

Police say they got several calls about the man threatening people with a knife and then they found him at a QuikTrip.

Officers said the man also threatened to kill them, then ran into the river.

"He ran out into the water, sat out in the middle of the river on a rock for several minutes," said Lt. Brian Blair with the TPD, "We chase him in the water, we were kind of liable for him should he get injured while he was in the water. So we left so he could come out."

Police say the man went in and out of the river twice and officers were able to arrest him.
