Recall Issued For Solar-Powered Umbrellas Sold At Costco

An alert for Costco shoppers, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission has issued a recall for solar-powered umbrellas.

The recall applies to more than 4,000 umbrellas sold exclusively at Costco stores.

The agency said the lithium battery that powers the 10-foot umbrella's LED lights can overheat, causing a fire hazard.

Shoppers are urged to stop using the product, remove the battery and return the umbrella to Costco for a refund.
