Metro Businesses Taking Steps To Reduce Power Consumption

Oklahoma's electricity provider, Southwest Power Pool, has hit a new peak-load record.

Region-wide electricity usage hit more than 51,000 megawatts early Thursday evening. 

Metro businesses are doing what they can to lessen the strain on the grid. 

The Super Target near Northwest Expressway and May said the store is taking steps by temporarily reducing lighting and air conditioning.
