Cutter Elliott was born eight weeks prematurely. He was diagnosed with autism and cerebral palsy, and doctors had a long list of things he’d never do.

“My parents were told by the doctors that I would never play guitar, but they never told me that,” said Cutter Elliott, country music artist.

“I just practiced, practiced, practiced, and I guess I’m doing alright,” said Cutter.

Doctors weren’t very optimistic about Cutter achieving anything.

“They said I would never walk, I would never talk, I would never sing, I would never graduate high school, or let alone graduate college,” said Cutter.

Cutter has been able to accomplish everything doctors said he couldn’t do, and now has two college degrees.

His mom, Debbie, never told him what the doctors were saying.

“So, he never really knew or felt that he was different,” said Debbie Elliott-Tresemer, Cutter’s mom.

As his love for music grew, Debbie lovingly challenged him to keep going.

“He would cry because his fingertips would hurt so bad. And we were like you got to just toughen them up,” said Tresemer.

Cutter is fully focused on his music.

“The ultimate thing I would love to achieve is to keep traditional country music alive,” said Cutter.

He just finished album and is releasing a new single every week starting Monday night.

“We got the top guys in Nashville and I’m very proud of that,” said Cutter.

Along with the album is a documentary about everything Cutter has overcome.

“It just tells my life story and I hope it brings awareness to and hope to other people that have autism and CP, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to someone else,” said Cutter.

That message of hope is to know what you want to do and never stop pursuing it.

“If somebody tells me I can’t do something, and I really want to do it, I’m going to do it,” said Cutter.

Cutter has also teamed up with Autism Speaks traveling the country telling his story. He will also donate part of the proceeds from his album sales to the group.
