OSDH, OU Testing Wastewater For Viruses

The State Health Department and the OU Health Sciences Center are teaming up to test wastewater for different kinds of viruses.

Wastewater was tested in Oklahoma City and Tulsa for COVID-19 during the pandemic. Now, researchers want to test public waste for other diseases like influenza, Salmonella, West Nile and monkeypox.
