People from across Oklahoma are in Claremore visiting the Rogers County Fair this weekend.
This year marks 108 years of the fair.
Tens of thousands of people stopped by the four-day-long fair at the Claremore Expo Center.
Julia and Blakely Ohman are from Claremore and decided to spend the afternoon together at the fair.
"We can go on rides and we can go on rollercoasters, like mini ones," said Blakely.
Blakely’s mother Julia says she liked seeing people come together to go to the fair.
"It's a good sense of community and it's a good time for your family," said Julia.
Tanya Andrews, the Executive Director of Visit Claremore, says the idea for the fair is to be a place where kids can be kids.
"This is all about the children,” said Andrews. “Whether they're showing in an FFA barn, or they're exhibiting for a 4 H entry, but also for the kids to come out with their families and enjoy a great fun time and be safe."
And she also hopes the fair will help show off the city.
"It's a great way to showcase Claremore, the Claremore Expo Center, the city, the fair of course,” Andrews said. ”They know they can come and have a great time in a safe environment where we're one large family."
Andrews says even though the fair is more than a hundred years old, it doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
"This is Rogers County's oldest event, and it doesn't do anything but continue to grow,” said Andrews. “It grows in popularity, it grows with the children's involvement, the school involvement, and of course all the residents and the volunteers."
Blakely wants other people to know that the best part of the fair was riding all the rides.
"That they like the rides and they should always have a good time,” said Blakely.
