Get ready to be scared. Halloween has arrived at the Castle of Muskogee. There are nine different haunts each rated by scare level along with several family-friendly activities for the kids.
Every year in October, the Castle of Muskogee opens on weekends for the Halloween Festival.
There's a wide variety of haunts from a train or hayride, a maze, to haunted houses. This one's called Casa Morte rated level five, meaning the spookiest it gets.
"We have a brand-new haunt this year, Jester's Revenge. It's full of clowns. It's a really fun, interactive event where you put on glasses, 3D glasses, to go through it and characters just jump right out at you,” said owner Matt Hiller.
Hiller said you don't need a ticket to enter the Halloween Village. That's the area across from the castle where you can check out shops, grab a bite to eat, even visit a fortune teller.
So, whether you want to be scared or just enjoy the festival, there are plenty of options for everyone.
"At the Castle of Muskogee, you can come in with your entire family and you can choose to go through with the older kids, send them to a haunt, take the younger kids on a hayride. With nine different attractions, there's something for the whole family,” Hiller said.
The castle is open Fridays and Saturday evenings starting at 5:30 p.m.
