The Jenks Trojans football team made history Thursday night, snapping the longest winning streak in high school football held by the Bixby Spartans.

It had been 1,532 days since Bixby had lost a game.

"It was by far the best football game I've ever been to in my life, the energy was great, everyone did really, really well of coming out and actually being loud and cheering," says Jenks Senior Parker Lee

Lee and her friends say Thursday night's win against Bixby was incredible.

"Very, very exciting and very loud," she said.

The Trojans put a stop to the Spartans 58-game winning streak, which was the longest in High School Football history. Jenks defensive lineman Milton White says it all came down to who wanted it more.

"It felt amazing, you know, the last time they lost was 2018, we were in 8th grade so you know this is our first time in our varsity careers beating those guys so it felt amazing," said Milton.

Senior quarterback Ike Owens says as great as it was to knock Bixby off their streak, it was just another game and he's looking forward to the playoffs next week.

"We got a tough schedule going into the playoffs, but the way we're playing right now, I don't think anybody can stop us," says Owens.

He says a big part of their success is an amped-up student section.

"The student section last night was great, they were loud the entire game and kind of helped us on the field," he says.

Lee hopes they can carry the same energy into the playoffs.

"Hopefully we keep up the energy, the last two games we've been pretty good at it so I'm hoping that the same energy we kept, but I think it will because I think this sparks a lot of confidence in all of us," says Lee.

And White is ready to keep that defensive line strong, so the Trojans can take state for the third year in a row.

"We just turn it up, and we just keep turning up, just pounding the rock, defense coming along ready to play, our guys we gonna be ready," says Milton.
