High school and college students are joining the fight against littering and illegal dumping in Oklahoma and they're joining through short videos.

As part of a litter education program, Keep Oklahoma Beautiful challenges students to tackle the issue of litter in a 25-45 second video clip.

About 30 registrants this year ranging from high school to college created clips to convey to Oklahomans that littering is costly, illegal and wrong.

All the videos are required to have trash hope is that this research will educate students and promote behavior change.

"They can learn the damages and the problems of what happens when landfills are full and when people don't recycle or they recycle incorrectly." said Executive Director of Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, Jeanette Nance.

Voting is open now and will close on January 18th at 11:59 pm.

The winners will be decided by a public vote and will win a $1,250 prize.

The winning videos will also be on the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful website and social media.
