A 72-year-old man in a wheelchair was arrested at an Edmond Walgreens on Sunday after police say he pulled out a gun and imitated pulling the trigger.
According to arrest records, Joseph Buza allegedly pulled out the weapon and repeatedly pulled the trigger inside the store near 1400 E. 2nd St. around 6 p.m.
A responding officer at the scene said that witnesses reported Buza entered the store, purchased items and left before going back inside.
Then, an employee asked why he was back inside the store before he pulled out a pepper-ball gun from his waistband and imitated pulling the trigger.
Records say he was in the middle of telling a story before the incident.
An off-duty officer was at the store and able to take the weapon from Guza before responding officers were at the scene.
EPD say that when Guza was being placed under arrest, he resisted by engaging the brakes on his wheelchair and dragging his feet on the ground.
Police say Guza is a convicted felon as of Dec. 23, 2016, and he is not permitted to have any weapons.
He was booked into jail on multiple charges including Firearm after Conviction of a Felony and Use of Firearm while Committing a Felony.
