The Village Police said they arrested a man whose home was filled with items stolen from sites all over the Oklahoma City metro area.

Roy Munoz was taken to the Oklahoma County Detention Center and faced at least 15 charges, including 13 counts of possession or concealing stolen property, possession of firearms by a felon, and using surveillance equipment during a felony, said The Village Police Capt. Matt Butcher.

The Village Police Department said on Feb. 16, Nichols Hills Police initially arrested Munoz for allegedly stealing appliances from a home. Because similar thefts had also happened in The Village, where Munoz resided, The Village Police said they went to his home to investigate further.

Butcher said when officers arrived at Munoz's home, they saw a van that matched the description of the suspect vehicle from a burglary. Officers were also able to see stolen items that were inside the van, Butcher added.

Police then obtained search warrants for Munoz's home and vehicle. Once inside the residence, officers saw that Munoz's garage and backyard shed were completely filled with stolen items, said Butcher. There were also various stolen items strewn about the yard. Police said the stolen items found in Munoz's home included appliances, cabinets, electronics, flooring, jewelry, tools and more.

"Officers entered the house and were immediately overwhelmed with the amount of property," said Butcher.

Police said the items were stolen from cars, construction sites and homes in The Village, Nichols Hills and Oklahoma City over the past few months.

"A lot of the houses that were burglarized were vacant houses that were being renovated, newly-built, that kind of stuff where contractors would leave some of their tools on the scene, and those were the type of tools that were getting taken," said Butcher.

Butcher said Munoz even had bathroom appliances that had been stolen.

"We actually recovered two sets of bathroom vanities that were the vanities with dual sinks with faucets and everything already installed on them," said Butcher.

As for the combined value of the stolen items inside Munoz's home and vehicle, Butcher said it was difficult to estimate, but the total was significant.

"The reports that were made with us and with Oklahoma City, that number could be anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 worth of property that was reported missing in some of the reports as well as we may not have recovered all that property," said Butcher. "So it's hard to say exactly what was reported stolen versus what was recovered."

Butcher said there were at least 13 victims in this burglary spree, investigators returned most of the stolen items to them. Butcher said police were still working to identify the owners of the remaining property.

Butcher said as of Wednesday, they had not identified any other suspects. But the investigation was ongoing and more charges were possible.

"As we get more evidence in the future linking these to burglary scenes, if there's video or surveillance photos or eyewitnesses that can identify multiple people or other people involved, we'll begin to look into others at that point," said Butcher.

In addition, Butcher said police found guns inside Munoz's home. As a convicted felon, Munoz was not allowed to possess firearms.
