Motorcyclist Dead After Payne County Crash

A motorcyclist has died after a crash that happened Monday evening in Payne County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at around 5:40 p.m. near US-177 and East 44th Street, two miles south of Stillwater.

What happened in the crash is under investigation, according to OHP.

The motorcyclist, Larry Mayes, 50, was transported to the hospital where he later died on Tuesday due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The other driver involved was not injured, troopers said.
