Shelter In Place Lifted After Oil Well Failure In Edmond

UPDATE 3/15/23 5:40 p.m.: The shelter in place has been lifted after an oil well failure caused a traffic shutdown Wednesday afternoon in Edmond.

Edmond Police said the southbound lanes at Covell Village Drive are still closed to traffic.

An oil well mechanical failure has caused a traffic shutdown Wednesday afternoon in Edmond.

The area near West Covell Road and North Kelley Avenue is shut down while crews work on the problem.
