Tulsa's Admiral Twin opens for the season on Thursday, March 16, with lots of movies lined up for people to watch.
Admiral Twin is opening a day earlier than it normally would, with a night of locally made movies to kick off the season.
Inside the Admiral Twin, preparations are underway in the concession stand kitchen, to get everything sparkling clean for Thursday.
Outside, the lot sits ready to be filled with moviegoers.
"People coming out, seeing the cars and seeing the family and the kids running around. It's always fun,” Owner Blake Smith said.
Smith said the Oklahoma winds caused some trouble on the west screen.
A few panels blew out, marking the first damage to the screen tower since Admiral Twin was rebuilt, after a fire about a decade ago.
"We actually did come out and test it and we're like, 'Well, maybe it's not quite in the picture.' It's - it was in the picture. So we got it fixed and it looks good,” he said.
Now that the big screen is ready, Smith said it's time to start the season with a triple feature, all movies with local connections, including a 15 minute short.
"An Oklahoma Summer, which is a short by a young man from around here who had contacted us about wanting to play his movie,” Smith said. “He was real excited, and so I just couldn't turn him down."
Admiral Twin will only be open on the weekends through about mid-May, then seven days a week for the summer. For more information, click here.
