Neighbor Speaks Out About 2 Bodies Found 1 Week After House Fire

Authorities are investigating a fatal fire that happened in the small town of Stroud, Oklahoma. 

Ashley Steel, neighbor in the community tells News 9, she is certain the victims are Brian Arterberry and Kayla Dawn Butler. The Stroud Police Department did confirm with News 9 Arterberry and Butler are missing.

On March 8th, a fire broke out in the residential area of West 4th Street.

Stroud Fire Department released a statement saying human remains were discovered a week later by one of the family members of the alleged victims. 

In the statement, Stroud Fire says, "Sadly, human remains were located by family members the night prior to the planned exploration. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office will take the remains and attempt to make positive identification of the victims."

News 9 reached out to the Stroud Fire department and State Marshall Officer about response times but they did not comment.

We are waiting on identification from the State Medical Examiner.

The Stroud Police Department is investigating if the fire was accidental.
