Oklahoma City Police are searching for a suspect in connection to an attempted carjacking outside a northwest Oklahoma City restaurant.
Police responded to the scene at around 9:17 p.m. on March 20 near Northwest 23rd Street and North Pennsylvania in reference to an attempted car burglary.
According to the police report, a driver for GrubHub had entered the Pizza House to pick up food and left his car on with the keys in it.
The driver said he saw his car rolling back in the parking lot and proceeded to run and jump onto the hood of his vehicle.
The suspect then drove the vehicle approximately 150 feet south on North Pennsylvania Avenue when the car stopped before the Northwest 23rd Street intersection.
The victim told police that he fell off the car but attempted to get back on. That’s when the suspect attempted to hit him with the car.
The victim yelled at the suspect, “this car is all I’ve got,” according to the police report.
The suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene before the victim got back into his car and drove back near the area of the Pizza House.
The victim yelled, “you are not leaving” at the suspect when the suspect pulled out a black pistol.
The victim raised his hands and said that he’d already called the police, then the suspect fled the scene on foot.
The victim was checked out on scene and told authorities he’d get checked out at the hospital later.
The suspect was described as a younger male wearing a red and gray hoodie with a short fade haircut and a thin build.
