A man with two felony warrants out of Creek County was arrested by police Wednesday morning after a 30 minute standoff that led to a nearby elementary school going on lockdown.
Sapulpa Police said officers arrested Dustin Newlin in the 1100 block of East Lincoln after forcing him out of his vehicle in the driveway.
SPD says officers commanded Newlin to exit the vehicle, but he refused. They even used bean bag rounds and pepperballs before using force to arrest him, according to their post on Facebook.
The Woodlawn Elementary School went on lockdown during the standoff, police say.
Newlin was booked on second-degree rape and accessory to a felony.
