USPS Unveils Stamp Honoring Ponca Chief Standing Bear

The U.S. Postal Service is honoring a famous Native American with ties to Oklahoma.

USPS will be launching the Chief Standing Bear forever stamp next month.

Chief Standing Bear won a landmark court ruling in 1879 that gave Native Americans constitutional rights after Ponca Tribal members were relocated to what is now Oklahoma.

The stamp will be available for purchase starting on May 12.
