Crash On I-44 Leaves Semi Hanging Off Bridge

A semi driver managed to walk away from a dramatic crash with minor injuries on Sunday.

Troopers with OHP said the cab of the semi went over a bridge railing in the morning near I-44 and Penn.

The driver was inside the hanging cab when first responders arrived.

They were able to safely get him out.

OHP says the driver was forced to swerve in order to avoid hitting another car, causing him to go off the bridge.

Authorities are working to clear the interstate after a semi-truck crashed near Interstate 44 and N Pennsylvania Avenue.

The east bound lanes of I-44, and Pennsylvania Avenue are completely blocked at this time. Authorities are closing ramps from 39th Street, May Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue.

The driver told the Oklahoma Highway Patrol that another vehicle cut him off, causing him to swerve and go over the bridge.
