A post being shared on social media accused a Coweta daycare of child abuse, but police said it's too early to call it that.

Coweta Police said the daycare is receiving several threats as officers are conducting the investigation. Police said the threats need to stop.

Police said they are aware and investigating accusations of child abuse at the Academy Learning Adventure daycare in downtown Coweta.

The investigation started after parent Braeden Boege said he discovered bruises on his four-year-old son after picking him up from the daycare on Monday.

"He was fine until we got into the car. And then, when we got into the car, he immediately lost it. He was crying, hyperventilating, and saying 'I don't want to go back there. I don't like it there,'" Boege said.

That's when Boege said his son told him he was kicked by a teacher.

Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell said child abuse accusations are taken seriously and it's being investigated thoroughly to determine if there was any abuse.

"We take every allegation seriously. Anything that comes into our department, we have a detective on staff. We have officers on staff and we will look into every allegation that comes in," Chief Bell said.

Boege said after speaking with an officer, he believes the department will do its due diligence.

"He made me feel listened to, heard, made my son comfortable enough to speak to him and he doesn't like speaking to anyone hardly," Boege said.

He said he wants the community to remain civil. Boege and Coweta Police want all threats toward the daycare to stop.

"Let the law enforcement handle this appropriately. Let the agencies do what they need to do; a thorough investigation. But as far as people making threats, I do not condone that behavior," Boege said.

News On 6 contacted Academy Learning Adventure for their side and have yet to hear back.

Investigators said at this time, they do not believe any children are in any danger at the daycare.
