A 19-year-old forward with MLS experience has been acquired by FC Tulsa.
The club announced Tuesday that it had acquired Patrick Weah on a loan from Minnesota United FC.
In seven MLS NEXT Pro matches this season, the winger tallied two goals and one assist in 315 minutes played.
"Patrick is a very gifted player who will add a spark to our attack,” said head coach Blair Gavin. “His pace and power will give us a different element on the front line. We look forward to bringing him into the group and building chemistry right away.”
Patrick is the cousin of USMNT's Tim Weah. Patrick missed the entire 2022 season due to an ACL injury that required surgery.
“I'm excited to join a new group and start working together with a fantastic coach,” said Weah. “I’ve been here for a few days and the team culture has been great. The guys are great and I do believe we have the talent and the team spirit to achieve great things this year. I'm looking forward to working with the players and coaching staff to improve each and every day and to win a championship.”
Weah joins recently-acquired Phillip Goodrum on Tulsa FC, who knocked in the game-winning goal against Louisville City FC last week in his debut with the club.
