Investigators said Christopher Harris was firing shots in an Okmulgee neighborhood Wednesday night, May 31.
An affidavit said people at a home near 2nd and Central called police and said Harris, who is their son, was trying to get inside.
Officers could hear Harris firing shots in the backyard.
They said when Officer Dustin Clark went back there, Harris ambushed Clark and shot him with an assault rifle. Officer Clark fired back but Harris ran away.
Authorities said they received a tip that Harris may be in a room at the Bel Air motel in Okmulgee.
Local authorities made contact with an individual in another room, and U.S. Marshal Service identified him as Harris, OSBI said.
Harris was taken into custody and booked into the Okmulgee County jail on June 5 for shooting with intent to kill and a federal warrant, OSBI said.
