A McIntosh County man is facing a federal charge, after agents said he told his former boss he shot and killed someone, then put the victim in a barrel full of acid.

Fredrick Burkhalter's arrest affidavit outlines how investigators say Burkhalter told his boss what happened in great detail, including how Burkhalter got the idea to put the victim in a barrel, from the popular TV show "Breaking Bad."

Kolby Ingram disappeared in April of last year, from the small town of Rentiesville, which sits between Muskogee and Eufaula.

Burkhalter's arrest affidavit says he stole a gun from Ingram, and the two got into a fight, with Burkhalter knocking the victim to the ground, then shooting him in the hand.

Court documents say while Ingram was screaming for help, Burkhalter shot him two more times to "make sure he killed him."

Investigators say Burkhalter told his former boss that he put the victim, who was living with him at the time, into a 55-gallon barrel, with muriatic acid. The affidavit says it dissolved everything except the brass buttons on Ingram's overalls.

Investigators say Burkhalter then stole a neighbor's truck and dumped the remains into a creek.

Burkhalter told his former boss he put a dead dog on top of the area where Ingram died.

Investigators believe the murder happened in April of last year, when Ingram disappeared.

This week, a flood of officers searched the property along with the Humane Society of Tulsa, which was rounding up animals so police K9s could do their search work.

Investigators found human remains, mixed with remains from a dog.

"We were just supposed to house them for the day while they did their work. And when we got on site was when we determined a neglect situation,” Humane Society of Tulsa Adoption Manager Rachel Ward said.

Now the Humane Society is caring for 14 dogs and 31 chickens while the case moves through court.

Ward said donations are pouring in to help. They have plenty of chicken feed for now, but aren't sure how long they'll be taking care of the animals.

The affidavit says Burkhalter also told his former boss he killed two other people, and claimed to have dumped one of them in a river.

When talking with investigators, they say Burkhalter denied killing or hurting Ingram, and said Ingram went to Tahlequah.
