Highs will reach the upper 60s and lower 70s today as an above-normal weather pattern returns to Oklahoma for most of the week.
A weak cold front arrives later tonight but becomes diffuse and has little or no impact on our weather.
Temperatures are expected to remain above normal today and tomorrow, with afternoon highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Tuesday morning will start with temperatures in the mid-30s, and daytime highs will reach the lower to mid-70s with south winds at 10 to 15 mph.
A few clouds will be possible both today and tomorrow with some sunshine. Another front arrives Wednesday morning.
Most of the area will remain dry for the week. A split flow continues in the upper levels of the atmosphere early this week but will merge by Wednesday, with a slightly stronger front approaching.
Wednesday morning lows will be in the 40s, with highs near the lower 60s. A slight chance for a few showers or sprinkles will be possible as the front moves through the area on Wednesday. However, the probability for measurable precipitation will remain quite low and mostly confined to extreme eastern Oklahoma.
Gusty north winds will return behind the frontal passage from 15 to 25 mph. Despite the low-end chance for a shower Wednesday, and the recent ice and snow cover, the fire spread rate will increase Wednesday through the end of the week.
Rather uneventful and mild weather will continue from midweek through the weekend, with morning lows on Thursday and Friday in the 30s. Daytime highs will reach the lower 60s on Thursday and lower 70s on Friday.
The Southern Stream brings a system near the area this weekend, which will increase the chance of a few showers or rumbles of thunder. However, the probability continues to be rather low due to some inconsistency in the exact trajectory of the system.
Morning lows will be near 40, and daytime highs will be in the mid-60s on Saturday and Sunday. The probability for measurable precipitation stands at 30% by Sunday night but is likely to increase as our confidence in the exact path of this system increases.
By the first full week in March, the upper air pattern is expected to become more progressive. This means an increasing opportunity for showers and storms.
