After weeks of dry conditions, much-needed rain is on the way for Oklahoma City and surrounding areas.
What is the weather like this week?
Monday morning lows will fall into the 20s, but a gradual warm-up will follow. Highs will reach the upper 40s Monday and climb into the low 50s Tuesday.
Our slow-moving statewide rainmaker is currently helping to put out the wildfires out west. Now, southern California is facing a threat of landslides.
This storm will cause clouds to increase on Tuesday across Oklahoma.
Tuesday evening, showers will lift in from the south.
Rain continues to spread north, and we are expecting waves of rain and storms on Wednesday and early Thursday.
The severe risk is very low.
By Thursday, temperatures will hover in the 50s as moisture combines with a strong low-pressure system, potentially delivering widespread rain.
Some forecasts suggest one to two inches of rainfall across parts of the state, with isolated areas receiving even more.
For those planning to wash their cars, we suggest waiting until after the rain passes or letting Mother Nature handle the job.
Stay tuned to the forecast as we fine-tune the timeline and totals.
