Week 6 of the Big 12 saw Texas upset by Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry and a slight wind in Oklahoma State's sails.
Iowa State:
After a 50-20 loss at the hands of Oklahoma in Week 5, Iowa State showed they are still a put-together team in their showing against TCU for Week 6.
Besting the Horned Frogs 27-14, the Cyclones are now set to travel across the Midwest to face Big 12 newcomer Cincinnati on Saturday.
Kansas:
Rock Chalk, Jayhawk. Kansas entered the second half of their game against UCF up 24-0, and that momentum carried them to a 51-22 win over the Knights following a 40-14 loss to Texas.
Up ahead, the Jayhawks will travel to Stillwater to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys for Week 7.
Oklahoma:
A 49-0 loss avenged, and a possible cementing of head coach Brent Venables impact on the Sooners program as Oklahoma returns from Dallas with a 34-30 win over Texas.
Although now the sole undefeated team in the conference, the win wasn't easy. Oklahoma and Texas traded blow for blow in all four grueling quarters.
Defense won the game for Oklahoma on Saturday, with an interception on Texas's first drive of the game, a goal-line stop early in the fourth quarter and five sacks plus two interceptions against star Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers.
However, with a late touchdown by Texas, Oklahoma was down 27-30 with only 1:17 left to play. Luckily for the Sooners, a minute was all they needed, with a pass by Dillon Gabriel connecting with wide receiver Nic Anderson's hands in the endzone with exactly 17 seconds left.
For now. the Sooners get a break as they have a Bye Week set for Week 7, giving Oklahoma time to recuperate until they face UCF in Week 8.
Oklahoma State:
One month after their last win, the Cowboys are back in the Winners section after a win over reigning conference champion Kansas State.
A dominant first half paved the way for a 29-21 win over the Wildcats, showing signs of life in an otherwise disappointing 2023 season for Oklahoma State.
Possibly a good luck charm? A familiar face showed up on the Oklahoma State sidelines: Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey.
Texas Tech:
Our final winner from Week 6, the Red Raiders took home a win over the Baylor Bears, a game college football fans often refer to as the "BU-TT Bowl."
Headed into the fourth quarter up 24-3, Texas Tech showed they can still compete after loses to No. 8 Oregon and West Virginia this season.
Next up, the Red Raiders welcome Kansas State to Lubbock for Week 7.
Baylor:
Enduring their second conference loss of the season, the Baylor Bears fell to Texas Tech in Waco, despite the support from actual bears.
Baylor takes a Bye Week for Week 7, before travelling to face Cincinnati in Week 8.
UCF:
Still seeking their first conference game win this season, the Knights fell to the No. 23 Kansas Jayhawks 51-22 on Saturday.
The team takes a Bye Week for the upcoming weekend, but travels to Norman to face the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 8.
Kansas State:
Kansas State quarterback Will Howard threw three interceptions on the road to the team's 21-29 loss to Oklahoma State on Friday.
Up ahead for the Wildcats, the team travels to face Texas tech for Week 7.
TCU:
The Horned Frogs are still looking for their first conference win of the season, following a loss to West Virginia and now Iowa State.
TCU has another chance to earn win when they host BYU for Week 7, however.
Texas:
For the first time this season, the Texas Longhorns have entered the Losers section after a last-minute scoring drive by Oklahoma wrapped up the Red River Rivalry with a 34-30 win for the Sooners.
Despite the loss, Texas showed dominance on both sides of the ball, going back and forth with a punishing defense and a high-caliber offense led by quarterback Quinn Ewers.
Texas has a Bye Week scheduled for Week 7, but returns to face Houston in Week 8.
Four teams were on a Bye Week for Week 6, but all four have games coming up.
BYU:
So far the only Big 12 newcomer to have won a game against a conference opponent, the Cougars are set to travel to face BYU in Week 7.
Cincinnati:
With a chance to earn their first win against a Big 12 opponent as a member of the conference, Cincinnati must prove they have what it takes to play in the Power 5 when they welcome Iowa State on Saturday.
Houston & West Virginia:
Both teams had a Bye Week for Week 6, and both emerge from the break to face each other on Thursday.
What's at stake? West Virginia is so-far undefeated in conference play, and their only actual season loss comes from No. 6 Penn State in the season opener. Houston however, has a chance to earn their first conference win in the Big 12 after losses to TCU and Texas Tech.
