Woman Accused Of Attempting To Cash Stolen, Altered Checks Arrested In Tulsa

A woman accused of trying to cash stolen and altered checks is in custody on Saturday.

The Tulsa Police Department said officers were called to a bank on Friday where they said Jara Nelson tried to cash a stolen check.

Police say the check owner told them he had written it for $35, but Nelson tried to cash it for $935.

Officers said they tracked Nelson to her home where she tried to run before they arrested her.

They say she had also tried to cash fake checks six other times since July.
