Several nonprofits are coming together to make sure one neighborhood in northwest Tulsa has presents this Christmas.
The Common Good is partnering with churches and other organizations to make sure roughly 600 kids don't go without a Christmas present this year.
The Common Good's seventh annual Christmas Joy gift-giving event on Saturday, Dec. 9, will help out families in the 74127 zip code.
These families had to register for the event and will be able to shop for free this year, so there will be gifts under each Christmas tree.
Gretchen Guillette with The Common Good said they know some families can struggle during the holidays and this is one way they and the community can give back.
"At Christmas time, our families have an extra pinch in the wallet. So this is a way to help them make it through this season, and to celebrate the season, and give their children gifts just like many other families do on Christmas morning," said Guillette.
Registration for this holiday shop is already closed. However, The Common Good will still be accepting donations for gifts, especially for those between the ages of 12 and 18. CLICK HERE to learn more.
