You can now get fresh locally grown food delivered right to your doorstep through Food On The Move.
Local Farm OK is now a division at Food on The Move and leaders say not only will this service help feed people in need but it also supports local farmers.
Local Farm OK is a subscription service where Oklahomans can get fresh produce and meat delivered straight to the house. You can get food like eggs, micro greens and a butcher bag filled with steak and chicken delivered weekly, bi-weekly, or every month.
Local Farm OK partners with roughly 20 farms across the state. The company has been around since 2015, but just recently merged with Food On The Move to help fight food insecurity here in Green Country.
Food on the Move CEO Kevin Harper says this service is great for people who don’t have access to transportation and says a portion of the proceeds goes back into the community to help feed people in need.
"What makes this such a great addition is whenever you purchase from Local Farm OK not only are you supporting local farmers not only are you going to support a nonprofit fighting food insecurity, but you are going to help us use those proceeds to benefit people in need," Harper said.
Food on the Move says it is working with Hungry Free Oklahoma to get SNAP benefits added to the subscription service.
