Two major and long-running Tulsa road projects are now open to traffic.
Both projects still have work underway, but both are done enough to let drivers see the improvements.
Both are on Highway 169, including the ramp from eastbound I-44 to Highway 169 northbound.
This is a major change -- a long extension of the on-ramp to 169 instead of a quick merge.
It's a $16 million upgrade to the overall interchange, and work will continue through the spring.
The other project is just a few miles north, where 169 meets 244, and there, ODOT has built a new bridge that is the ramp to westbound I-244.
It replaces the old bridge, which was not as wide and was a constant maintenance problem. It's covered with patches. It will be demolished.
For at least two more months, there will be some work continuing on the new ramp, and it will be down to one lane.
In both cases, ODOT asks drivers to slow down while the work continues. There will be workers on-site at both for some time.
