Court records show that a man accused of killing an ORU men's soccer player in a crash while under the influence is set to go on trial on Monday.

Investigators said Eugene Quaynor was stopped at a red light near 71st and Yale when Nicholas Robinson slammed into the back of Quaynor's car in September 2022.

They said Quaynor was pinned inside and the car was on fire when first responders got there.

Witnesses told police that Robinson drove away from the crash and hit a concrete wall before officers arrested him.

Robinson is charged with second-degree murder, DUI, speeding and failing to stop at a red light.
