Weekend Events: Chili Bowl Nationals, Gymnastics Competition And More

The weekend is finally here and if you're brave enough to venture into the cold, there are some events going on in our area.

Chili Bowl Nationals

It’s chilly outside and what better way to celebrate than the Chili Bowl Nationals? Tulsa’s huge event continues Friday and Saturday.

It’s branded as racing’s winter answer to the Super Bowl and brings thousands of fans out every year.

Green Country Film Festival

You can catch some unforgettable films from local filmmakers this weekend at the first ever Green Country Film Festival in Wagoner.

The three day event starts tonight at the Canebrake on Fort Gibson Lake. Awards will be given out on Sunday.

"Dream Meet" Gymnastics Competition

This weekend brings back the Aim High Academy “Dream Meet” at the Cox Business center Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This gymnastics competition brings more than 800 competitors from all over the state and other states.

It’s all in honor of Martin Luther King Junior’s legacy. Proceeds go to low income families in Tulsa to pursue gymnastics.

Wel Bar's "Sober Sips"

Lots of people are doing Dry January or staying sober for other reasons. Wel Bar is hosting its first ever “Sober sips” non-alcoholic festival at Mother Road Market in honor.

You can find nonalcoholic beer, wine, spirits and mocktails. That event is come and go from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and you can reserve a free ticket online.

Tulsa Oilers Arena Challenge Practice

It’s almost time for the Tulsa Oilers Arena challenge, which is on February 3.

That involves trips around the main and top levels of the BOK and is a 5k run distance with lots of stairs.

There will be a practice session Saturday morning at the BOK Center at 10:30 if you want to get your practice workout in before the main event!
